FAQ

  • Our electric scooters go 15 miles per hour and have a range of 28 miles per charge. Each scooter folds so you can pack it into a vehicle or carry it if necessary. All scooter rentals come with a battery charger, scooter bag, lock, and helmet. 

  • We require all riders to be at least 18 years old and have a valid learner’s permit or driver’s license. If you are 15-17 years old, you can ride with Panda Scooters only if accompanied by a parent or guardian. No one under 15 years old are allowed to use Panda Scooters.

  • Private 2 hours guided scooter tour through Balboa Park. A private tour requires booking 2 people minimum and 4 people maximum. Contact us directly to inquire about private tours for 5 or more people.

  • We have hourly, daily, and weekly scooter rentals. We require a 2 hours minimum rental period and charge per additional hour.

  • Our online checkout allows a 4 scooter limit. Contact us directly to inquire about groups larger than 4 and corporate rentals.

  • We drop-off and pickup scooter rentals within a 20 mile radius from Petco Park. Delivery options are available at checkout. Contact us for deliveries further than a 20 mile radius from Petco Park.

  • Since we do not have a storefront, you will meet with one of our staff members at the time and date you specified when booking your scooter rental. 

    Scooter Rentals will meet to pickup your scooter in Downtown San Diego, located at:

    950 13th St, San Diego, CA 92101.

    Private Tours will meet tour guide at Balboa Park, located at:

    Balboa Dr, San Diego, CA 92103.

  • We have a minimum charge of $30.00 per scooter rental for a 2 hours minimum rental period. After 2 hours, the price is $5.00 per additional hour.

    Private Tours charge $45.00 per scooter rental for a guided 2 hours ride. Two person minimum required for private scooter tour. 

    Delivery Drop-off and Pickup Services are available at checkout:

    $5 each way (within 5 miles of Petco Park)

    $10 each way (within 10 miles of Petco Park)

    $15 each way (within 15 miles of Petco Park)

    $20 each way (within 20 miles of Petco Park)

  • Cancellations require at least 24 hours notice from the time of booking to receive a full refund. No refunds are available for same-day bookings.

  • In the event of rain before or during your ride, you can opt for a rain check or a refund. Refund amounts depend on the duration of the ride completed prior to the rain.

  • You can ride anywhere that permits bicycles, except off-road areas. Always obey local bicycle regulations and take notice of posted signs indicating restrictions.

  • We recommend wearing closed-toe shoes, as open-toe shoes or sandals are not permitted. Dress appropriately for the weather conditions. We will provide you with scooter bag and helmet. 

  • We require a valid driver's license or a learner's permit to ride.

  • 1.   Have a valid driver’s license or learners permit.

    2.   Wear a helmet if under 18 years old.

    3.   Ride at a maximum speed of 15 miles per hour.

    4.   Use bike lanes where available.

    5.   Do not ride on the sidewalk or in a crosswalk.

    6.   Do not turn left on a scooter when going through an intersection. Instead, stop after the intersection on the right side curb and walk the scooter across the crosswalk by foot.

    7.   No passengers allowed. One rider per scooter.

    8.   Follow all laws that apply to motor vehicles.
